Top 2015 Memories and Making more in 2016

As we now enter 2016, this year I am sealing a envelope with all my hopes and goals for 2016. My hubby has done the same. We haven't shown each other what we have written and we plan to open them December 2016 and see how many we have achieved. Are you thinking of doing something similar?

As girls, we have a habit of putting ourselves down and I'm always telling myself, I haven't accomplished much and it wasn't until I saw my Facebook story that I thought. Actually I have accomplished some big things this year and maybe I need to just cut myself a break... (that goes for all you girls out there!)

This year I'm going to make a jar full of memories. Maybe this is a good way we can always remind ourselves to dwell on postive and happy memories. I'm also hoping to get some Polaroid film and fill my living room with Polaroid memories.

These are my highlights of 2015

6th March - Buying our first house  (thrilled with it, even if we will spend the next 5 years renovating) 😂

•  18th March - I Passed my driving test!!! (Man this mean't so much to me as driving lessons gave me the worst anxiety.)

April- It was a first in my modelling career to play the main lead in a music video where I had to jump off buildings and be drowned in water!

May, June
It was also a first to see myself on a story book cover. I loved this job and this actually gave me the idea for adventureland back last year!

June, July - For our wedding anniversaries, we always try and go on an adventure and for 2015 we went to Egypt. I loved all the activities we did, they were super fun, it was just a shame that while we was there the Tunisan bombings happened and we had an earthquake which made me proper scared! Such a fascinating country though and great to spend time with my best friend. Without hubby I wouldn't have the confidence to do half the stuff j do. His always motivating me and telling me I can be whatever I want too.

21st September
We offically launched our new business venture, The Blogger Agency.  www.thebloggeragency @thebloggeragency After brainstorming and working our bums off in the summer to get ready, we launched our most exciting venture yet. I realised all established bloggers and influencers needed to be paid for all their hard work with brands and this industry needed guidance and help. We became one of the first agencies of its kind in the UK and internationally and now as a managing director, it keeps me seriously busy! With big plans for 2016 which I can't quite share with you yet but put this way worldwide plans, I'm extremely proud of what our agency represent's and every individual around the world that works with us. Every one inspire's me in some way daily.

November/ December 2015

After spending the last 6 months working every second of the day/night rain or shine....well you get the picture, I was really relived to to be remote working and travelling/ seeing friends for a few weeks in Mexico. My highlight was staying in a treehouse!  I really think travelling and learning about different cultures is the most exciting/rewarding thing you can do in your life.

2016

The end of the year was spent in a completely, well nearly... work free zone enjoying friends and family in the UK. I feel like I'm ready for 2016 so BRING IT ON!! ...(even if I am currently battling flu.)😂  I apologise for the lack of social posts and delay on the adventureland sale. I will try my hardest to keep making the world more mermaidy.(The adventureland sale will be going on over the next few days.)

I would love to hear your highlights of 2015, of course remember these are my highlight's and not every day is crazy exciting.😂 We all have moments of low's and that's totally normal and ok but positivity and looking forward is what will always keeps us all going. One of my aims of 2016 is to keep my blogs as honest and unedited as possible so hope you all enjoy reading them. I Send all of you winter mermaid loving! ðŸ˜˜ðŸ’•ðŸ’“

Lo Xx

#EXMODEL Risks, Exposed and The Future

Early Retirement

This week I decided to retire from modelling. It's been 6 years of the most crazy up and down years of my life. I will thank the industry for, making me who I am, learning to stand up for what I believe in and the amazing travels, people and experiences I have enjoyed and the business knowledge I have gained.

I have thought lots of times if I should take a risk and write this risky blog post or not but I want closure and I feel in my own little way this gives me it.

Their are certain things that have effected me from modelling and pit falls I also wish to warn all about. Also young vulnerable people need more protection and control.

My Story
I remember the first time I was scouted, I was 16 and scouted by agency called storm, which I would come to hear loads about when I was older.  She handed me a card with a picture of Kate Moss's face on and said come to office please! I was so chuffed I kept in my wallet and would keep getting to out to check it was real.

I told my parents about it but they wasn't impressed and told me I was too young. This may have been the one of best decisions they ever made for me as I prob would have caved and done whatever agencies wanted to do and done things I was uncomfortable with just to please photographers and brands.

At 19 I still kept getting scouted although mainly through smaller agencies and I thought I'm gonna go for it. I managed to do alright at modelling even if I was "1 and 1/2 inches to short to hit the big time." 😂 but there are certain things I think should be shared.

Weight, measuring and big hips
A lot of big agencies give their girls food issues by constantly weighting them and measuring them and also I have heard stories of big agencies giving girls things they shouldn't be. This makes my blood boil.

I personally began to really like stick thin legs. I always looked at girls skinny legs and thighs that didn't touch.

•Agencies I found awful to work for ...Oxygen

Eeek man the horror stories I have heard from models too. I remember I was personally signed with Oxygen for like 2 months or something... I remember when I met them they spoke about how my hips where pretty large for my body size (My hips are the same size as Kate Moss...who knew we were bigger then average) and I also remember them being so mad I wasn't at a casting.  When I said I was in hospital so couldn't go, they didn't even say sorry to hear that and still said why couldn't I get to the casting. They also kept going on about being short and not a fashion model.

I spent years after that thinking I had big hips why my friends and strangers would come up to me and say I was super skinny. The truth was the doctors believe I was wasn't well this whole time with some kind of parasite or immune disease for years and that's why I was skinny and yet this was being celebrated in the fashion world and people were telling me how ill I looked in the real world. I now strive to be more curvy and realise just how crazy it all was.

I would NEVER ever work for

 • Now I'm also going to expose a fraud modelling company called Matching Models. They don't pay models for their work and owe thousands. They even sent me and about 15 other girls to India and didn't pay any of them. They only paid me because I started legal action against them. Why I was in India I also got bundled in a car which my
agents put me in with a group of girls and some indian guys tried to drive off as my agents were drunk and didn't care. I never talk about this story ever,..... a lot of stress for a 21 year old huh.

I have a 2 or 3 other awful stories but I don't want to share them as they bring back bad memories and this isn't some kinda sob story/ Jeremy Kyle show! Haha

Know The Facts

I have also honestly prob not been paid by agencies and jobs around 10 times and been too young or stressed to know what to do or how to seek legal action.

Another point bearing in mind, if your considering being a model is how you would cope with constantly being told you nearly got the job but the "other girl had longer legs" "Oh you have been selected for a £25,000 advert," (Literally you dance round the room)....3 minutes later.... Oh sorry they chose another girl. (Literally you feel blurgh)

This is a daily thing you have in your life and being constantly dropped or loosing jobs will effect you, even if you are a real strong personality.

I know what your thinking but "Their all rich though and i saw her sipping champagne of instagram" ...

Right ok there's something called,  'THE EXPECTATION"  For example we will use Rosie Huntingdon, as an example, really famous and yes rich. This is rare. Stuff most dreams are made of.

"THE RULE OR REALITY"

Most models prob earn the same as you or maybe some months less. They will spend years chasing after that next job that will make them rich. Their are thousands of models in London and hundreds per job.

(You can apply the above rule to most things like people that say their marriage is trips to Rome every day and red roses... In reality for most couples a good night with an Indian take away and a night when your husband is not farting!) Haha

Beauty In Everyone

I am grateful however for how modelling has taught me to never be like some of the stealing, manipulative people that I have in accounted in life, the business knowledge, the in built determination to stand up for what I believe in that grew every day and as I leave to focus on both my businesses which I'm very proud of I will always do my upmost to make sure influencers, models and brands are always treated with respect, honour, and know that every one is beautiful and special in their own way and beauty does not have to mean being 5'10, pint sized and blonde.

The time for 'Treat em mean and keep em Keen' is gone and thanks to social media we can chose our own Hero's, fashion icon's, and Go to beauty bloggers. It's time for #peoplepower. We get to chose who we want to FOLLOW!

Social Media Supermodels

Also you guys with tons of followers on social media taking free pictures for big brands/corporations. Don't do it, your literally #workingforfree and your letting the Huge Brands and PR companies roll in money and probably buy super yachts  at your expense! You are all the super models of the future. #SUPERINFLUENCERS will be the thing of 2016.

The End
In complete conclusion guys, my words are very honest but I will try and take the good things away from modelling, I encourage everyone to always stand up for honesty, view every person with respect and realise that there is beauty in everyone and everything...and yeah I know I sound cheesy but this is what I will try and do. (Also, sorry if my spelling is a bit off, I'm writing this at 2am on my phone why I have some time and feel brave!)

Lots of love and have a good day guys.

Look how cute the packaging arrived! Full of little glitter star confetti as well!

Having been founded by a London based illustrator Madeline Griffith the brand started with face paints and then took the UK Festival scene by storm and then Ibiza.
IN YOUR DREAMS inspo comes from their travels all over the world and their love of festivals and colour. I love the fact that all products you buy have some info on the company too!

Some of there art work is truly unique and you can truly tell it's the work of an illustrator. Love the owl art work!

To create today's festival look I mixed cluster packs Stardust £4.00 and Empress £5.95 and added my own Sugarplum pink glitter to my lips and www.adventurelanduk.com chasing horse necklace. £11.00 For festival hair, slightly messy plaits are fab and for evening embrace messy hair and add dry shampoo to make it even bigger...also fantastic as you will prob not get to have a shower at a festival!

Merman Hair & Mermaids are TRENDING!!!

Holla!

MERMAID TRENDING AND SASSY MERMAID INSTAS

So its mid summer. England is freaking hot and its suuuuuuunny! 25C today!!! I am currently doing a sun dance! Anyways right, mermaids are trending big time! I like to think www.adventurelanduk.com had a part in this. It doesn't slip my notice when people start following me on instagram with job roles like 'Assistant buyer, Asos'  'Fashion design H&M' and so on and the next thing you know BOOM theres a copy of what you the little fish the ocean has been selling, sitting on H&M's shelves! Frankly thats life. Gulp.

I'm NOT saying in anyway I am single handedly started a mermaid craze in anyway because that would be a silly, stupid and ridick thing to state! Im fully aware there is a a bunch of sassy females that have helped to make this happen such as @amythemermaid @amylaurasmith @littleegg1991@mermaidians @saltedbettys  @skinnydiplondon and real life mermaid bloggers such as @lucyhelena @hannahmermaid @sophiehannahrichardson @mahinamermaid @_aimeepotter_ @livmermaid and many many more but I do like to think I have had a tiny part in it!

MERMAID COMMUNITY & MODERN DAY MERMAIDS

There's a real mermaid community going on! I You should check all of the above instas and blogs out. Sassy mermaids support each other! I will be tagging all these girls in my instapost.  Personally  I like to think of myself a a bit of modern day mermaid. I have no desire to grow a green tail but I do love to own a crazy amount of bikinis, never brush my hair, snorkel my bum off ,swim all day on the ocean and have huge love and respect for all the animals in the sea.

MERMAN HAIR TRENDING
Anyways in other news...... you may have already noticed, lots of pictures cropping up on instagram and Facebook of coloured hair on men. LOOK AT THIS & READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.gosocial.co/20-photos-of-the-latest-trend-mermanhair/  First we had pink hair trending.....then came granny grey....then unicorn hair (totes made famous by @amythemermaid) and now MERMMAN HAIR!!!! If I'm completely honest I'm not sure what I think but here here to colour and summer! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Have a good un mermaid princesses!

Music Video Shooting

Hey girly whirlies!

It's just a quick random little blog post...

NEW CHALLENGES

Today was exciting as a music video by Calyx & Teebee called 'LONG GONE' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGM0zArhxnk was released which I feature heavily in.

It was fun and a challenge shooting this video..!  We shot for two days and a night. It was shot mainly in a studio near Swindon by sandstorm productions. By a super friendly fab team! (I must add as well the food from the chef was amazing! My favourite thing about every time I do fiming is film set food food!) This was exciting because although I have shot adverts and online tutorials etc I needed to act a lot more for this and I was actually filmed alone the whole time. One of the artists was then added at a later time.+ my brief  for my Model Agency BMA said 'Can you jump off a building?' Now that's exciting!!!

FEARS & JUMPING OFF BUILDINGS!

I had to learn how to jump off of a building onto a trampoline. I was really scared as I totally have a fear of heights but I've always had the moto that you have to ALWAYS challenge yourself. They bought in a trampoling coach who was lovely but man I was seriously bricking it at first! I was really proud of myself for jumping off countless times though. I was pretty sore and aching the next day but I felt pretty like a proper nina warrior! haha

BEAUTIFUL WOODS,RAIN AND UNDERWATER CHOKING!

For the woods scene we shot late into the night. When we arrived on location I was blown away by how beautiful and magical the woods were. I felt like I was in a scene from Hunger Games or Disney's Bambi. Unfortunately it was freezing cold and raining buckets! The whole team got drenched including me which you can prob spot in the video! I was bare foot for some scenes and man, I won't forget how cold it was, although the team tried their best to warm me up with blankets, fires and coats but it was worth it....I think! Haha

For the last day we shot more in the studio and I was lowered into a tub of water by some of the men from the production team. I was told we had to get it in one take and was told I needed to look completely natural and relaxed. I managed to do this but as I was lowered under the water, I swallowed loads and secretly was choking but trying to act relaxed. Bubbles started coming out and they quickly pulled me out with me spitting water everywhere! Haha (I'm so not glamourous!)

Anyway heres the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGM0zArhxnk

Eat Your Way Fit

EAT YOUR WAY FIT

Bonjuer you beauties,

So this post is all about eating clean and keeping keen!  Spring is the perfect time to overhaul your food and exercise routine. I've always been in love with being completely make up free, healthy skin and hair and that requires effort!

Illness & Me

It's no secret that since I was a teenager I've battled like crazy with being pretty darn I'll and feeling stupidly tired. (This has brought bouts of feeling down as unfortunately its been a blooming long time.) I do know though that if your eating really healthy it does have a big affect on us though inside and out, so if your similar to me and struggling with illness or well just wanna improve your heath, here is a helpful read and tips!

KNOW YOUR FOOD FACTS

They say knowledge is power and it really is... for me learning that the average person has 20,000 chemicals that are unable to ever be broken down in the stomach....it scared me....a lot!  See a lot of people don't realise that eating processed foods like microwave meals and having food allergies is filling your body with inflammation. Your basically poisoning yourself every time you eat processed foods. It is very heavily linked with things like anxiety, mental health, chronic illness, hormonal problems, cancer, diabetes and literally the list goes on... I'm not saying your be completely healed by eatting good foo but it can help, so if your feeling a bit pants, try some of these tips and see if it helps.

WHERE TO START AND JUICING

Buy a juicer and try a juice fast. Sometimes people feel pretty ill in the first 3 days of trying this but sometimes it's just the body trying to adjust. If you feel really rough and like you can't hack it you may have a slightly weaker immune system like me and you may need to ease your way in. Eat real meals and juice one meal a day. This is what I do. Usually juicing my breakfast. Remember this is still prob wayyyyyy more fruit and veg then you would eat usually.

So I know what your thinking you said about no processed food...that's like nearly all food.
True it is more effort eating healthy and it takes more thinking and time but if you feel rough enough  and you wanna improve your body enough and you start seeing you stomach stop blotting you can DO it! If I can you can do it you can....I literally used to eat 2 chocolate trifles for breakfast and cake for lunch. HELP!

MY INSPO AND SHOPPING LIST

Here's what's on my usual shopping list in case you need some inspo and I have included some meal ideals below. And yes bread is a sin in my house. Everything I eat is currently inflammatory, gluten free, wheat free food. 6 WEEKS RESULTS

I can honestly say if you start eating anti-inflammatory foods then you will see some results in your skin,(no need for makeup)I am already starting to see a change and have more glowy skin. health and if you combine this with a good fitness routine then your body is gonna look good! Who knows you may even see an ab or two.gulp!  Maybe try a new sport. In the last week I've been jogging for the first time. It's killing me but its fun to try new sports.  Don't expect results straight away though..it takes 6 weeks to see changes!

FESTIVAL LOOKS, TOPSHOP MAKEUP REVIEW AND FRECKLES

So today I decided to show you guys a festival look using my favourite things on www.adventurelanduk.com

Now at Festivals you wanna look HOT but not to made up....natural is goooood + no one wants their face melts off while there rocking out.

MAKE THAT FACE WITH TOPSHOP

Ok, so recently while staying at my bestie Lou's. I borrowed a bit of her makeup. Lou is really good at makeup and reads all the reviews. I tried Glow by www.topshop.co.uk in shade 'polished' and loved it! It is the perfect highlighter for a festival and I actually like it better then my mac ones!!!! At £9.00 it's a bargain too! Its creamy and you only need a tiny bit!

While on my trip to Topshop Oxford Circus...(which i'd gone solely to buy this 'polished'  I discovered another highlighter 'Horzion'! I really like this too and think its great for a all over body glow although it can be used on the face of course. This is more of a tanned orange colour then 'polished'. It's also a bargain at
£10.00.

Glow in shade 'polished' on the left and 'Horizon' on the right. The picture does not do them justice!

FAKE FRECKLES

Freckles are in this summer and that makes us freckle-less girls want them! Well with Topshop's Freckle Pencil you can! If you have faded freckles you can also use it to bring them out.

EYELINERS

Now, for the last year, I've stopped wearing eyeliners. I have cat eyes and somehow even though every girl shows me in the shop that the eyeliner won't imprint up my eyelids, it does. NOW WHO WANTS THAT A FESTIVAL!!!!!!  But then I discovered this week..two that do what they should do... STAY ON!!!  RIMMEL SCANDAL EYES  £6.99 http://www.boots.com/en/Rimmel-Scandaleyes-Waterproof-Gel-Liner_1450812/
and for the waterline £3.99
http://www.boots.com/en/Rimmel-Scandal-Eyes-Waterproof-Kohl-Liner_1281559/

Eyebrows...... I always use Collection 2000 eyebrow kit and Maybelline brow Drama in dark brown.
Coverage wise I used a Maybelline coverup stick under the eyes and on a spot I've  currently got, but everyones got a favourite so feel free to use what you love!

For my eyelashes I used Maybelline cat eyes mascara....to go with my cat eyes! lol

JEWEL UP MY FACE

Our Under The Sea Face Jewels are just perfect for making that festival look come together. £3.00 Bargain!!!!! www.adventurelanduk.com

HAIR

Natural with dry shampoo.(At a festival, you are not gonna get curlers or straightens) Stick a few little plaits in it to scream boho chic and I also added a few starfish and shell clips from www.adventurelanduk.com  to add a little va va voom!

FACE DONE NOW MY OUTFIT??

My outfit I am wearing, is the BALI BABE 2 piece set. £35.00  This outfit is really comfy and can be worn with flat shoes or jazzed up with wedges! www.adventurelanduk.com

My necklace is our chasing horses chunky statement piece! I do love it so!

My bracelet and ring are our starfish set which are £12.00 on www.adventurelanduk.com

That's about it! Total festival look!

So excited we are coming into summer!!!!!!!!

Lots of love and sparkles.
